XP takes a very long time to shut down

When shutting down or restarting Windows XP, it takes a very long time for the shutdown window to appear. If you open the Event Viewer (Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Event Viewer), you get the following error message in the System tab:

Der Server "{9B1F122C-2982-4E91-AA8B-E071D54F2A4D}" konnte innerhalb des angegebenen Zeitabschnitts mit DCOM nicht registriert werden.

To solve this problem, a change must be made in the registry. Before this is done, a restore point should be created.

Now open the registry editor:

Open Registry Editor

We copy the long character string in the error message (here e.g. {9B1F122C-2982-4E91-AA8B-E071D54F2A4D} ) and go to “Edit / Search” in the Registry Editor. Now we search for this character string. If it is found, we delete this key. The problem should now be solved.

I would like to point out (from a purely legal point of view) that I accept no liability for any damage caused by the use of these instructions. What is written here is technically correct and mistakes are due to your own stupidity :)
