==== How do I deal with passwords in general? ====

For general security and dealing with passwords, there is a corresponding [[en:it-security:passwords|tutorial]].

==== What is the masked mode for? ====

The masked mode specifies character sequences. If one or more passwords are to be generated that contain 3 numbers and then 5 lower-case letters, this is possible in masked mode.

The following placeholders are provided here:

  - B: Capital letters
  - b: Lower case letters
  - n: Numbers
  - s: Special characters

**Example:** The following passwords could be generated from the placeholder sequence BBnnnbbsssnnB:
